Background/Experience
Randy graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1983 with majors in Physical Education and Health Education and a minor in Driver's Education. He obtained his Masters from EIU in 1991 in Physical Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration.
Randy wrestled at the 118 pound weight class during his collegiate career, earning two NCAA DII All-American honors. He also won three USA Wrestling Greco-Roman National Championships in 1976, 1977, and 1978.
In 1985 Randy came to the Urbana School District as a middle school teacher and assistant wrestling coach. He became the boy's soccer coach when the sport was added in 1986. In 1996 Randy became the girls coach when the school district added the girls soccer program. He coached the girls team until 2005.
Randy and his family live in Urbana. His youngest son, Adam, has played for LISC since 1999. Randy holds the NSCAA National Youth Diploma.
