Playing/Coaching Background
Joshua started playing soccer at the age of 6. He began his career with LISC at the age of 9. He played until he was 16, but a serious knee injury ended his soccer career. His LISC team played in many top state tournaments while he played club soccer. After his soccer career, Joshua went on to run track and cross country for Centennial High School and his senior year he helped his cross country team win a Twin City Title, Regional Champion Title, and was Sectional Runner up. He still plays soccer and runs recreationally. Joshua holds his USSF "E" License as well as the NSCAA National Youth Diploma and has been involved coaching boys teams between the ages of U11-U13 in the LISC.
Coaching Philosophy
Joshua believes that kids must learn to have fun and love the game of soccer. He feels that the technical aspect of the game needs to be focused on during the early years of a player’s career. Joshua believes that players can do this by learning in a fun and competitive environment. He considers teamwork to be essential to the success of soccer players and he emphasizes this in all areas of his coaching both on and off the field.
