Bragg, Matt

Background

Matt was born in 1989 grew up in Champaign. He is a graduate of Champaign Central High School and currently attends the University of Illinois where he majors in Atmospheric Science. Matt holds an USSF E National License.
 
 
Playing Career
Matt began playing for Little Illini Soccer Club at the age of 7 and continued through high school and into college with the U23 team. During his time with Little Illini Matt was coached by several coaches in the club, including Mike Kobylinski and Josh Alford. In high school Matt played for Champaign Central High School from 2004-2008 under coaches Ryan Krows and Josh Alford. As a senior Matt was co-captain and received All-Area and All-Conference honors. 
 
Coaching Philosophy
Matt believes the most important aspect of soccer is  enjoyment. When players have a passion for the sport they have a chance to become exceptional players. Matt believes in teaching technical ability at a younger age and developing a tactical understanding of the game as players get older. Soccer is just a game but lessons learned in the sport, such as teamwork, sportsmanship and persistence are helpful throughout a lifetime.
