Background:
Soccer has always been a part of my life starting when I played in the recreation leagues. Growing up in Mahomet soccer was a sport that always came last, but for me it was always the most enjoyable. I played for four years at Mahomet at the midfield and defensive positions and while being a captain for two years, lead the bulldogs to the most successful four years they have ever seen. Not only did we have the most wins in school history, but also went the furthest in the state qualifying tournament. While playing soccer, I also ran track and was part of the wrestling team at Mahomet. Continuing my soccer skills in college, I played at Parkland College for two years under Mark Sikora obtaining captaincy my sophomore year and All-Academic team. I am currently enrolled at the University of Illinois majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology with hopes of medical school afterwards. Lastly, I currently work part-time at Best Buy and have held the position for over 4 years.
Experience:
I have been an assistant coach at Mahomet junior high for the past 2 years, and have assisted a number of club soccer teams with my brother Grant Brewer. I have run a weightlifting and conditioning program for 8 years in the summer at Mahomet for 5th grade through freshman aged kids. Patrick holds an USSF E National License
Philosophy:
Have fun while being the best is a great way to look at soccer. Having fun is the most important quality, otherwise there is no drive or effort. Being the best comes from us, the coaches, teaching the kids the correct form and technique and continuing to develop those skills that they have already learned. It is my goal as a coach to make every athlete better not only as an athlete, but as a leader and person.
