Teams,

We are just a few days away from the 2016 Illinois FC Spring Invite! 

This email will have two parts. The first section will include information for team staff AND parents. The second section will have information specific to team logistics.

GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT APP
We are excited to announce that our tournament app is now available for download. You can use the app to check scores and schedules, find maps to the fields and other sites in the area, and receive important notifications during the tournament weekend.

The free app is available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play for Android devices.

NEW SAFETY RULES - NO HEADING FOR U11 & BELOW
In accordance with US Soccer and the Illinois Youth Soccer Association, intentionally heading the ball is now banned for players aged 10 and under. Purposefully heading the ball in all age groups U11 and below will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team.

TOURNAMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
While there haven't been any major changes since our last email, please confirm your team's schedule here: http://events.gotsport.com/events/default.aspx?EventID=47260 

At this point, we do not expect any schedule changes.

WEATHER/FIELD CONDITIONS
Although the fields are soft, at this point we are still good to go. If there are any weather issues, we will try to make our decisions by Thursday. Please download the tournament app so you can always stay up to date with weather/delay issues.

COLLEGE EXHIBITION GAME
We are excited to announce that the University of Illinois men's club soccer team will play an exhibition match against Parkland College as part of our tournament. The free game will take place at 8 p.m. at the Outdoor Center, field 13. It should be a great way to end Saturday's action.

FIELDS
We will utilize 18 fields for the Spring Invite. All of them are the on the campus of the University of Illinois. 14 at the Main Site (1-12, including 6a, 6b and 9b). The other four (13-16) are located at the Outdoor Center. You can find maps and directions here: http://www.illinoisfc.com/ si16-fields 

***Please note the University DOES NOT allow pets at their facilities.***

PARKING
Please check the field maps for designated parking locations. For teams that play on Friday, the University will stop enforc ing their parking restrictions at 5:30 p.m.

Please note that there is NO PARKING on the grass directly south of the Main Site.

 

TEAM LOGISTICAL INFORMATION

REGISTRATION
As a reminder, you can find registration requirements and forms on our website:  http://www.illinoisfc.com/si16-registration

Registration will take place on Friday from 4 pm to 10 pm at Soccer Planet (directions at the link above) and on Saturday at the Main Site. Teams must be registered at least one hour before their first game. Teams that play their first game at the Outdoor Center still need to register at Soccer Planet or th e Main Site.

You may also email all of your registration materials to us (you can simply reply to this email). If you choose to email your information, you will still need to "quick register" with just your player passes.

SCORING
After each game, the referee will give the game card to the winning coach (or home team coach if the game is tied). Coaches should take the game card to the scoring area immediately following the game.

Main Site: The scoring area is the brick building in the middle of the complex.
Outdoor Center: The scoring area is at the white tents between fields 13 & 14. 

Scores and standings will be available online shortly after we receive them.
