JOIN ILLINOIS ALLIANCE!

IFC is excited to announce the formation of the Illinois Alliance with Illinois Fire Juniors and Midstate Soccer Club, providing expanded opportunities for our older players (2006 and older). Tryouts are July 14-15 for boys and July 13 and 15 for girls. For full details: https://www.illinoisfc.com/illinoisalliance

TRYOUT DATES SET-DOC NEWS SOON!

TRYOUT DATES have been set: July 22, 23, and 24. We are planning to hold these tryouts in Johnson Park in Champaign, since Dodds will not yet be available to us due to Champaign Park District work on the grass. Fall team training will commence the week of Aug. 17th at Dodds. We will share more details on both in the weeks ahead.

All of the above assumes the Central region will be moving to Phase 4 of the governor’s Restore Illinois plan in July.

ALSO, the full-time DOC position has been filled. We are working to finalize some details, with plans to make a formal announcement in the next 2 weeks.

WE STAND TOGETHER

Illinois FC joins the nation in mourning the death of George Floyd and the long line of other Black Americans who have lost their lives needlessly. Our country needs to commit to meaningful change, and IFC reaffirms its commitment to being a positive force in the community.

At the core of Illinois FC is the belief that youth soccer provides great benefits to our children. Sports brings people together and helps young athletes learn the value of teamwork and overcoming obstacles. It is not enough, though, to just be open to diversity. We must assess and evaluate our own institution and hold ourselves to the highest standard. We know how much the parents at this club sacrifice in time and money to help their children grow and benefit from the experiences that organized soccer can offer, but we also recognize that it is a privilege to be able to do this for our children. As we recover as a club from a lost spring season let us move into the future not only with a goal of returning to a state of normalcy but with the goal of improving our definition of normal so that our community thrives and the privilege of being part of this organization is available to all.
